On September 25, the fellows of the scholarships offered by the World Federation of Scientists presented their activity reports. The meeting was attended by Academician, Professor Gheorghe Duca, Coordinator of the WFS in the Republic of Moldova.
The scholarship holders presented their results, highlighting the purpose and successful fulfilment of their project objectives. The presenters emphasized the importance and impact of their work on research and on addressing social issues in the Republic of Moldova. It was noted that the research results obtained within the WFS scholarship program were published in scientific articles with impact factors and in national publications, as well as presented at various national and international conferences and symposia. In addition, several patent applications were submitted based on the obtained results.

- Angela Canțîr, Institute of Ecology and Geography / Moldova State University. Project title: Evaluation of geomorphological processes on agricultural lands in the Calintir Hydrographic Basin.
- Eugenia Covaliov, Technical University of Moldova. Project title: Intelligent valorization of wine residues in the context of the circular economy.
- Rodica Eremciuc, “Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Project title: The applicability of triponderal index in tackling childhood obesity in Moldova.
- Nicolae Cristea, Institute of Genetics, Physiology, and Plant Protection / Moldova State University. Project title: Research on the particulars adaptation and virulence of Fusarium Oxysporum strains extractrd from common wheat plants in different areas of the Republic of Moldova.
- Corina Tașca, Moldova State University. Project title: The influence of bioactive additives on biomass fermentation from agro-industrial sector
- Vadim Morari, Ghitu Institute of Electronic Engineering and Nanotechnologies/ Technical University of Moldova. Project title: Study of n-ITO/n-Zn₁₋ₓMgₓO:Al/p-Si heterostructure obtained by spray pyrolysis technique for solar cells.
- Ecaterina Covaci, Technical University of Moldova. Project title: Ouantification of bioactive compounds in secondary wine by-products and their use in human nutrition.
- Irina Cabac-Pogorevici, “Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Project title: Optimizing the Diagnosis and therapy of heart failure through artificial intelligence: an innovative approach for precise plassification and personalized therapy.
- Vladilena Gîrbu, Institute of Chemistry / Moldova State University. Project title: Radical functionalization of terpenes via visible light carboazidation.
- Cristina Moldovan, Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology / Technical University of Moldova. Project title: Identification of a micromycete strain with stimulatory potential for agricultural plants.
At the end, Acad. Gheorghe Duca congratulated the scholarship holders offered by the WFS and mentioned that the offering of these scholarships is a great prestige for PhD students and young researchers from the Republic of Moldova, at the same time it constitutes an important tradition of supporting young scientists in the country.
