1. Global Evolution of Artificial Intelligence
As is well known, artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the ability of machines to replicate human functions such as reasoning, learning, planning, and creativity. Currently, AI is integrated into various fields, ranging from marketing and transportation to healthcare and finance, and it has a significant impact on how companies interact with customers and optimize their operations.

The National Agency for Research and Development (NARD) hosted, for the first time, on October 21, 2024, the meeting for handing out the scholarship certificates offered by the World Federation of Scientists (WFS) for the year 2024-2025. The meeting was attended by the general director of NARD, dr. hab. Aurelia Hanganu; Acad. Gheorghe Duca, WFS coordinator in the Republic of Moldova; Acad. Ion Bostan and Prof.
The history of the Society of Chemistry of the Republic of Moldova has its roots in the post-war period, but the development of chemistry in Bessarabia began during the interwar period. At that time, Bessarabia was part of Romania, and education and chemical research were influenced by the universities of Iași and Bucharest.
One fascinating aspect of research in artificial intelligence (AI) and neuroscience is the comparison between the power of the human brain and modern supercomputers. Despite the complexity of the human brain, its energy consumption is surprisingly low.
At the planetary emergency seminar in Erice, Italy, the issue of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on global development was discussed. Prof. Sun Kun Oh from Seoul National University, South Korea, spoke in detail on this topic. In the context of this debate, I considered it appropriate to include some ideas regarding AI's influence on chemistry, a field in which I work as a chemist, in the final declaration from Erice.
